Triple P PARENTING CLASSES
If you want to improve your relationship with your children or learn to better manage their misbehaviors, then join a Triple P Parenting Class offered regularly throughout the year. Call 873-6453 anytime to get on the waiting list for the next session of classes.

Ages & Stages DEVELOPMENTAL SCREENINGS

First 5 Inyo is committed to giving kids the best start in life. The first five years of life are critical for developmental growth. The sooner a delay or disability is caught, the sooner children can be connected with supports and services that make a real difference. The Ages & Stages Questionnaires are parent-completed developmental and social-emotional screenings to pinpoit delays as early as possible.

First 5 Inyo assists in coordinating screenings, connecting families with referral resources, and providing education around child development. To learn more, call 873-6453.

Reach Out and Read LITERACY PROGRAM

Reach Out and Read gives young children the foundation for success by incorporating books into pediatric care, and encouraging families to read aloud together. First 5 Inyo partners with local clinics to provide a book at every well-child check. Ask your provider at your next visit about Reach Out and Read!

Raising a Reader LITERACY PROGRAM

Raising a Reader is a new program for First 5 Inyo in 2018. In partnership with local head start preschools, Raising a Reader helps families build book sharing routines. Children bring home a red book bag each week filled with award winning books to practice the habit of sharing books. If children drive the process and the red book bag and books become a favorite toy, then children will benefit from healthy brain development, family bonding, and increased literacy skills!

CAR SEAT SAFETY

Need help with passenger safety seats? All families are invited to get a free car seat safety check at First 5 Inyo from our Car Seat technician. DIAPER DEPOT

First 5 Inyo's Diaper Depot addresses the growing issue of "diaper need," or an insufficient supply of diapers to keep a baby clean and dry. The third highest cost for low-income parents, diapers can cost as much as $100 per month. Additionally, diapers are a requirement for most child care providers, making diaper need a barrier to affordable child care and thus employment. First 5 Inyo's Diaper Depot is grateful to our generous community for donating the diaper supplies.

Available for families to pick up at three locations:

  1. Bishop, First 5 office, 568 West Line Street
  2. Independence, Fiscal office, 155 Market Street
  3. Lone Pine, Social Services office, 380 N. Mt. Whitney Drive
